Soyoung Johnston, Project Coordinator
Soyoung, originally from Brooklyn, NY, Graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Anthropology.
Soyoung began her career as an Account Executive with several digital agencies in New York City. The majority of her time was spent at Digitas, where she specialized in strategic marketing for financial services and fortune 100 companies such as Chase, American Express, Allstate Insurance and Delta Airlines.
Soyoung worked at her family’s New York-based Money Services business for two years. She was in charge of securing a New York State banking license, managing the build-out of new office space, and setting up Money Services compliance and auditing procedures.
After a move to Los Angeles, Soyoung worked at a direct-lender mortgage firm before taking a bookkeeping position at a motion graphics and animation firm.
Currently living in Portland, Oregon with her shoe-designer husband, two children and Ollie, the Terrier rescue. When not assisting the two partners at Ethos, Soyoung is busy being a dance and soccer mom.
Josh Bean, Managing Partner
Josh Bean is a Managing Partner at Ethos Commercial Advisors. Being a Portland native and an active commercial broker and Vice President in the Portland metro area for more than a decade, Josh has a wealth of knowledge on the market’s past present and future.
Josh has created a niche in the mid-market investment sale market. With a strong background in leasing and tenant representation, he is able to fine tune the performance of a building in anticipation for a sale to maximize value. Conversely, Josh sees unique opportunities in value-add office buildings to maximize client’s investments.
Advising local businesses in crafting real estate strategies to support their growth is a passion of Josh’s. This provides a platform for true contributions to the community. He supports these organizations through strategic acquisitions, dispositions and leasing.
Josh currently holds an Oregon Real Estate License and is a CCIM candidate. In his spare time Josh enjoys spending time hiking with his wife Renee and two miniature blue heelers Maya and Izzy.

Paul Del Vecchio, Managing Partner
Paul manages the day-to-day operations of Ethos Commercial Advisors and has deep rooted experience in development, financial analysis, and consulting and advisory services for both public and private organizations.
Paul has served as an International Realty Specialist with the U.S. Department of State specializing in acquisition of land for new embassies and consulates as well as portfolio management and strategic dispositions. In addition to working for world leaders in the construction field such as AECOM and Skanska USA, Paul previously served as Director of Development Services for Monument Realty, one of Washington, D.C.’s leading real estate development firms with a portfolio of over seven million square feet. In this position, he was responsible for the development of multifamily, hotel, and commercial developments as well as management of a division of the company.
Paul holds a Professional Engineering license, Principal Brokers Licenses in Oregon and Washington, a U.S. Green Building Council LEED accredited professional certification, and is an Associate Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Paul earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as a Master in Engineering Management from The George Washington University, the latter as a trustee’s fellow. Having completed an International MBA with a concentration in finance from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain, he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honors society. During his MBA, Paul interned with a non-profit organization helping women entrepreneurs in Kigali, Rwanda develop plans to expand their businesses and secure financing for the expansion.
When not managing Ethos, Paul spends his time with his wife Lisa and two dogs Luna and Boom. Mountain Biking, Skiing, Sailing, and Hiking are passions that help shape Paul’s perspective on the importance of smart and sustainable urban growth strategies.
Brian Hanson, Vice President
Brian is primarily responsible for private capital placement and middle-market sales as well as leasing in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in office, retail, and development transactions.
Brian came to Ethos Commercial Advisors with 12 years of commercial real estate experience gained in New York City and Portland Oregon. In New York he worked in investment property sales and leasing with Massey Knakal Realty Services (now Cushman Wakefield) grossing nearly $145 million in completed transactions and was awarded the Seventh Annual Michael Fuchs and Aby Rosen PIER Award, representing overall values of Passion, Integrity, Excellence and Responsibility. In Portland Brian worked for local industry leaders such as ScanlanKeperBard Companies and HFF.
Brian earned his Master’s Degree for Real Estate Finance at New York University, graduating in May 2011. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Boston University, where he also minored in Spanish and spent a semester studying in Madrid, Spain.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Hanson spends time with his family and is active in snowboarding, surfing, and rock climbing.
